About Me

Martina John Augustino holds Bachelor’s Degree in Arts and Social Sciences (Sociology and Political sciences) from the Catholic University of East Africa. With over 17 years of work experience with international, National and government institutions, i.e. currently working with PAX Movement Netherland Foundation South Sudan program as a gender project officer, previously had worked with the South Sudan Bishop’s conference, Catholic Agency for Overseas Development (CAFOD) South Sudan Democratic monitoring and Observation Programme (SSuEMOP) and Safer world South Sudan Program.
Currently leading in the implementation of the Empowered Women Influence project founded by the Germany Federal Foreign Affairs Office with PAX South Sudan, with focus on empowering female parliamentarians, female led civil society and the women advocates to influence legislation and judiciary reforms at National level., implement IFA project pervious project to EWI, and LOP project partially

Personal Skills

A peace and security gender expert, Ms. Martina who doubles as the Organisation’ Board Chairperson has worked from National to sub – National level addressing harmful gender practices and application of traditional law, and equally initiates peace activities that could contribute to peace processes and approach armed actors aiming at use of now violent approaches
Ms Martina developed an HIV/AIDS workplace policy for the Bishop Conference to be used for massive awareness raising campaigns on issue affecting the communities in different diocesan location. Participated in baseline survives, trained the trainers in the relevant topics in relation to the women peace and security gender, peacebuilding initiatives that address the wider communities needs i.e. Rumbek, Juba and Yambio
led the successful implementation, planning, monitoring and financial reporting of Saferworld Community security, peacebuilding, and gender mainstreaming program in Yambio through holding community dialogues, peace and gender awareness rising, mitigate conflict through different methods, roundtable discussion on community concerns, organized civil society open platform and community security assessment/ baseline survey to guide the implementation of the project.
Worked with implementing partners, stakeholders and across all the organization previously worked
led as a chairperson many time celebration of the international women’s day commemoration between in Maridi in 2020/2022, representing Safer world support as a Safer world project coordinator and the implementing partners on community security  and peace building  activities  for the communities  and stakeholders.
On the other hand, I led as a finance coordinator at SuDEMOP during the electoral process of the general election and referendum in South Sudan, reaching out to ten state coordinators with financial transactions, training, and reporting.
