She is passionate about advancing community health, food security, and public awareness through evidence-based nutrition, strategic communication, and people-centered engagement.
Marcella brings a unique dual competency—technical expertise in nutrition programming and creative skill in public relations and communications. As a Nutrition and Public Relations Assistant at the Road to Economic Development Organization (REDO), she has supported the design and implementation of nutrition awareness campaigns, facilitated community mobilization, and strengthened REDO’s visibility through effective communication strategies. Her role involved drafting health messages, coordinating outreach events, and documenting success stories to inspire behavioral change and donor confidence.
Her earlier internship at the Ethiopian Public Health Institute refined her laboratory and analytical skills in assessing food quality and micronutrient content while broadening her understanding of national nutrition interventions. She has also conducted MUAC assessments, promoted infant and young child feeding practices, and supported supplementary feeding programs for children and vulnerable groups in Juba.
Marcella’s key strengths include public communication, research, teamwork, and data analysis, complemented by strong interpersonal and leadership abilities gained through professional development training at Wollega University. Fluent in English, Arabic, and Zande, she is an articulate communicator who effectively bridges technical knowledge and community understanding.
Driven, empathetic, and highly adaptable, Marcella stands out for her ability to connect with communities while maintaining scientific rigor and professional integrity. Her blend of nutrition expertise and public relations talent makes her an invaluable asset to REDO’s mission of promoting sustainable food security, improved nutrition, and community empowerment in South Sudan.
