Joseph Lopite John is a dedicated and results-oriented humanitarian professional with a Bachelor’s Degree in Humanitarian Emergency and Disaster Management from Bugema University, Uganda, obtained in November 2024. He brings over two years of progressive experience in humanitarian response, emergency preparedness, and disaster management.
Joseph began his career with the Uganda Red Cross Society (Kampala North Branch), where he undertook his first industrial training from May to July 2022. During this period, he gained valuable practical experience in disaster preparedness, community mobilization, and emergency relief operations. He has remained an active member of the Uganda Red Cross Society, continually contributing to humanitarian initiatives.
In 2023, Joseph completed his second internship with the Emergency Response and Rehabilitation Initiative (ERRI) / Citizens Call in Juba, South Sudan. There, he played a key role in emergency response and recovery activities, including the evacuation and assistance of returnees and refugees affected by the Sudan conflict.
Currently, Joseph serves as a Program Intern at the Road to Economic Development Organization (REDO) under the NGO Forum Internship Initiative. His work focuses on program planning, concept note and proposal development, coordination, and implementation of community resilience and sustainable development projects.
Guided by compassion and a strong sense of duty, Joseph is passionate about saving lives, supporting vulnerable populations, and strengthening effective humanitarian response systems across communities.
